First flight:
Herbert Zillinger, Ebenhaler Lagen, Grüner Veltliner, 2009
Nice acidity, fresch, some green flavours, grape fruit, quite quick, dry – a nice wine, good with food
Martin & Anna Arndorfer, Reserve Strasser Weinberge, Grüner Veltliner, 2009
Fine acids, fresh, dry, minerals, refined & elegant in style, some lemons and flowers – a good wine with an elegant finish, good for asian food (my choice)
Walter Buchegger, Gebling, Riesling, 2009
Fine acid, aromatic, exotic fruits, some minerals – another nice wine with a fine structure and nice finish (This one won the first flight)
Second flight
Birgit Braunstein & Martin Pasler, vom Leithaberg, Chardonnay, 2009
A bit spicy, wood, with some acids, well composed, nice structure – it tastes Chardonnay and is well made. (my choise)
Mayer am Pfarrplatz & Rotes Haus, Wiener Gemischter Satz Nussberg, Gemischter Satz, 2009
Fresch, easy on the tounge, some flowers, dry – I guess it’s great with food – a nice wine (This one won the first flight)
Walter Skoff, Obegg, Sauvignon Blanc, 2008
Sweet, flowery, some spice, good acids, some spritz, big – not my kind of wine.
flight three
Artner, Rubin Carnuntum, Zweigelt, 2009
Blue and dark berries, a of hint bitterness and roughness, much taste in the finish, spicy – a nice wine
Nauer-Pöltl, Reserve, Blaufränkisch, 2008
Acids, some blackberrys, lots of tannins, spicy, tobacco, bitter chocolate – a good mix of flavours and long after taste – a good wine
Schnider, Reserve, St. Laurent, 2008
Some red berries and blackcurrent, good tannins, nice touch of wood – good structure, fine taste, fine after taste – a good wine (my choice and the winner of the fight)
Zull, Pinot Noir, 2008
Some cherries, red berries such as raspberries, quite light but still good tastes, nice spice in the end – a nice wine with some finess
Moser Hans, Ausbruch Aus den Rieden, Cuvée, 2007 (sweet)
Obviously sweet, spicy, some acids, dates, raisins and citrus fruits – very good but I would have liked some more acids.
The winner is Birgit Braunstein & Martin Pasler, vom Leithaberg, Chardonnay, 2009
best wishes
Magnus Reuterdahl
